These are some terms and phrases that are used in the FMCG industry and MyBrandz.
TD – The Distributors
Blad – a flyer with product information. Used by reps to sell products.
CDS – Container Deposit Scheme AKA bottle tax. Applicable everywhere in Aus except Victoria.
NLF – New Line Form. Spreadsheet with information regarding one or more new products.
PB – Price Busters magazine.
BAB – Bag a Bargain magazine.
CDU – Counter Display Unit. Boxes of products that are designed to be displayed on shop counters.
HO – Head Office (The Distributors).
Ex-factory – when a product leaves the factory.
Job Lot – a product that is limited to certain shops ie 7/11 or Caltex. Should not be visible on websites.
Advantage – rewards program run by The Distributors. Only certain suppliers participate.
Weekly Promos – individual promotions run by members.
National Promos – promotions run for specific chains EG Caltex or United.
Inzant – company and software that runs Distributors member websites.
SKU or EAN – another term for barcode.
MB – MyBrandz
WW – Widget World
HUB – Product management system. The system through which we manage MyBrandz. Sometimes called PMS.
ID – Obviously not unique, but needs some explanation. Each different thing in the PMS (products, suppliers, categories, and brochures) has an ID. We can use this ID to refer to things elsewhere. For instance, home screen panels can be linked to a product or a brochure using this ID.
BCs – Barcodes.
